''New Twitter'' May Prove Valuable To Businesses

Article Date: 2010-09-16 A new version of Twitter's arrived, and for businesses attempting to make contact with consumers on a personal basis, that could be good news. The upgrades should make it easier in several ways for businesses to attract and maybe hold individuals' attention.
The first thing Twitter wants everyone to know (via a post on the Twitter Blog) is this: "The site has a cleaner timeline and a rich details pane that instantly adds more impact to individual Tweets while still maintaining the simplicity of the timeline."
Then, since a company should have plenty of pics and/or clips of its product available, it's important to note that "it's easy to see embedded photos and videos directly on Twitter, thanks to partnerships with DailyBooth, deviantART, Etsy, Flickr, Justin.TV, Kickstarter, Kiva, Photozou, Plixi, Twitgoo, TwitPic, TwitVid, USTREAM, Vimeo, yfrog, and YouTube."
Twitter's made discovering information about a tweet's author a simpler process, too.
All in all, this seems likely to help companies spread marketing messages. Plus, the simple fact that the redesign might get people to use Twitter more overall - even if they're not seeking to make contact with companies - is bound to result in a few folks learning about brands and perhaps making purchases.
Just don't count on being able to forge ahead with the redesigned Twitter right this minute; the changes are in fact just supposed to roll out over the next few weeks. About the Author:
